More about the work:
This embroidery was created during quarantine – a time of extreme emotional and physical hardship for many, yet also a time of growth, renewal and healing.
Sewing is a way to tap into ancient craft practices – moving the needle slowly by hand, through and over the material, in and out, up and down.
With that physicality in mind, the pieces ultimately act as a metaphor for the esoteric missive “As above So below,” providing a safe space between the imagined (a world we want) and the living world (both rewarding and at times, challenging).
