Each collage is a contemplation in choice, relationships and security. When life gets messy it’s natural to want to order things and put things into perspective.
Totems are ancient sculptures that rise to the sky, calling on ancestors to bring safety and good tidings; I’ve made these for our current times. In each pattern a new place emerges to wander, and wonder about past and present.

My collage process is a remark on consumerism and art (through the reappropriation of art magazines), while also honoring both Dada and Minimalism with a nod to philosophical concepts of “nothingness.”
